Public Experiences & Exhibitions

We translate futures research into public experiences that make emerging change tangible and urgent. Working with museums, cultural institutions, and organizations seeking broad engagement, we design exhibitions, create speculative artifacts, and produce media that help diverse audiences understand and discuss what's ahead. Our work ranges from physical installations explored by thousands to experiential objects that make abstract futures visceral and immediate.

What this includes:

  • Museum exhibitions and installations

  • Speculative artifacts, future objects, media and experiences

  • Public engagement programs

  • Video and audio programming

  • Experience design for cultural institutions

  • Large-scale future literacy initiatives

Crafting New Worlds and Experiences

Project Spotlight

FOREVER, MOD., Adelaide, Australia

As part of our Visiting Research Fellowship, Changeist partners Susan Cox-Smith and Scott Smith collaborated with the exhibition design team at MOD. in Adelaide, to explore how to bring the futures of time, memory, aging and life beyond today’s boundaries for the FOREVER exhibition. We also contributed to the FOREVER book accompanying the exhibition, exploring these themes more deeply.

ASOS Future Talk Show, London

Working with global apparel retailer ASOS and their external agency partners, Changeist designed and delivered a six-segment future “talk show,” professionally staged at a major internal corporate gathering at Alexandra Palace in London. Along with science fiction writer and futurist Madeline Ashby and a rotating cast of ASOS executives, we explored futures of fashion, climate change, retail, new materials, wellness and more for audiences of up to 500 filling the space.
