Public Engagement
We design experiential futures, based on our practice of creating speculative artifacts and immersive installations that spark public conversations about change.
We partner with experience designers, museums, and architects to turn futures research into immersive public experiences. Our work includes permanent museum installations, major international exhibitions, and speculative worlds that help people understand change by stepping into it rather than just reading about it.
We bring proven foresight methods to experiential design—using horizon scanning, scenario development, and hands-on prototyping to create installations that feel both research-backed and genuinely surprising. Our collaborations connect serious futures thinking with engaging public experiences, turning complex changes into artifacts people can touch, spaces they can walk through, and stories they can experience at human scale.
From initial concepts to final builds, we work with creative teams to design experiences that take audiences from today's familiar world into multiple possible tomorrows. Our projects have appeared in cultural institutions across Europe, the Middle East and Gulf regions, and major venues throughout Asia and Australia.
We create learning experiences that help people get comfortable with change—building the tools to engage with uncertainty and possibility. Whether we're developing speculative artifacts for humanitarian futures, creating climate scenario installations, or designing interactive experiences around emerging technologies, every project balances imaginative reach with cultural relevance and analytical rigor. We also explore how these experience formats themselves are evolving, helping our partners stay ahead of changing audience expectations.
Our approach makes abstract trends tangible, turning distant possibilities into immediate, personal encounters for diverse global audiences.
Crafting New Worlds and Experiences
Project Spotlight
FOREVER, MOD., Adelaide, Australia
As part of our Visiting Research Fellowship, Changeist partners Susan Cox-Smith and Scott Smith collaborated with the exhibition design team at MOD. in Adelaide, to explore how to bring the futures of time, memory, aging and life beyond today’s boundaries for the FOREVER exhibition. We also contributed to the FOREVER book accompanying the exhibition, exploring these themes more deeply.
